Abstract

ducators are people who are responsible for the physical and spiritual development of their students, both at school and outside school and always make themselves good role models for students. In the perspective of Islamic education, the nature of educators consists of several sequences, namely: Allah SWT, Prophet Muhammad SAW., parents, and teachers in educational institutions. The teacher has an honorable position in the sight of God and in society. This is directly proportional to his duties and responsibilities as a trustee in carrying out education. The high position of teachers in Islam is different from that of teachers in the west. The paradigm difference lies in the perspective of the existence of God and His teachings which also color the epistimological and axiological factors of science To become an ideal teacher, teachers must have teacher competence. In the Islamic perspective, teacher competencies include: 1) personal-religious competence; 2) socio-religious competence; and 3) religious professional competence.
